Dawn wanted to imitate an old photo she has of her grandmother in the same dress, so we worked on that pose for a while and then played around town. We went strolling on the mall, collecting stares at the National Gallery, and dancing down empty alleys on Capitol Hill. My favorite shots are from an abandoned lot on the hill with the most whimsical, overgrown garden.

I think Logan probably has the world's biggest, bluest eyes - and what a charmer! He and his family trouped out to this field with me two Saturdays ago. Can you believe we found a legitimate field within a half mile of our Brookland home? I love Ben and Rachel's style and I love taking pictures of dear friends.

Ah, Virginia! Kurt and Colleen looked long and hard for the perfect spot and they found it at The Ashby Inn in Paris, Virginia. Nestled between rolling hills and amber fields this quaint little inn gave a warm welcome and sophisticated service, setting the stage for an absolutely beautiful wedding!
The bride and groom worked for months in advance experimenting with homemade wares to fill gift bags for guests including brewing their own beer, concocting spice rubs and even pickling I believe! Hospitable and original - this is who they are and who they were the whole day long! Guests were privy to a rolicking bluegrass band, spit-fire roasted goat, and cumin flavored s'mores under the night sky. As a guest myself I can truly say this was one of the loveliest weddings I've ever been a part of.

As usual Molly has some incredibly unique pieces in her fall line-up. She's an amazing fiber artist who cards, dyes, and spins most of the yarn herself! For more information visit her shop on Etsy: http://mollymillerbyappt.etsy.com

From the feathers in her hair to her dark purple shoes Jess's impeccable sense of style stood out in every detail on her day. But the most remarkable thing about this wedding was the warmth and tenderness of Jess and Steve's family and friends. A whole host of Aussies flew half way around the world to show support!
